11-24 July 2004
IERE, through its American Center for Life Cycle Assessment program, and the Global Alliance of Lifecycle Assessment Centers jointly sponsored the internet-based InLCA/LCM 2004, with financial support from the Research Center for Life Cycle Assessment (now merged into Research Institute for Safety and Sustainability, part of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan). This was the fourth in a series of International Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Management conferences.
Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Management are approaches for managing the sustainability of products or services and are emerging as tools to support policy, regulations and environmental management systems around the world.
This conference was intended to reach the widest possible global audience of those interested in life cycle approaches.
Papers on policy application of life cycle approaches, case studies and thought papers showing the integration of life cycle assessment costing and life cycle social assessment are particularly desired. Participation by citizens of non-OECD countries is also particularly desired.
Conference attendance was via the internet and free to all. An online introductory short course on LCA and LCM was also provided.
