Minutes

The meeting was convened at 7:15pm at the Vashon Chamber office. Present were: Board President James English and Secretary Steven Macdonald. Director Macdonald chaired the meeting. The agenda is attached as the last page of these minutes.

Announcements

Board President English attended an Ecology meeting in Bellevue 2 April, on the Mainland Preliminary Study results.

Review and adoption of minutes from prior meeting (3/19)

The minutes were adopted with minor correction.

News release

Board President English will write a news release for the Beachcomber and the Ticket, on the Ecology PPG grant award to Vashon IRPPC, and on the IRPPC awards to the two technical consultants Kleinfelder and IERE. Secretary Macdonald will be listed as the contact.

  Technical consulting services

A process was adopted, to ask the technical consultants to modify their standard contract language to accommodate Ecology concerns. Secretary Macdonald will ask Seel about the "Findings Confidential" clause.

  Financial affairs

Secretary Macdonald received a bill from Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce. The VMICC has loaned IRPPC $400, which has been deposited in the IRPPC account at Washington Mutual Bank. The PO Box (number 1442) has been established.

  VMICC HMRC topics

The discussion at the 4/9/02 meeting was reviewed. Board President English suggested that the June VMICC meeting would be a good time for an update on the schools phytoremediation project, and Secretary Macdonald offered to communicate that to HMRC chair Gerstle.

Next meetings

The date for the June meeting was changed to the third Tuesday, 18 June.
